Hi! I’m Srimanta Barua. Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I’m currently working as a software engineer at Amazon, building a globally distributed, high performance, OLTP database. I have the privilege of working with a group of extremely smart people, and I learn something new every single day.

I graduated with a M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, where I worked as a graduate research assistant in the CyFI Lab, reverse engineering packed malware samples using a combination of static analysis and memory image forensics. Previously, I worked as a Cloud Software Engineer at Intel, Bengaluru.

I’m interested in loads of different areas of computer science. I spend most of my time geeking out about low-level systems programming, computer graphics, text rendering … and lately I’ve developed an interest in programming languages and compilers.

On this site, I talk about the projects I am currently working on, or have dabbled in in the past.

I’ve put up links to other places you can find me on the internet, at the bottom of this page. You can find also my updated one-page résumé here.
